Xbox Series X not turning on guide

This guide can apply to most of your TV connected consoles, this might not apply entirely to handheld consoles but some of the steps here would.

  1. With the console plugged into power only nothing else, no controller or TV try to turn it on with power button on the console if you get no beep and no lights then connect your controller with USB and try turning it on with controller; if you still have no beep and no lights the system board is not getting power or has a major issue, so now try step 2

  2. Try plugging in a different power lead; one you know works, if that has not solved the problem proceed to step 3.

  3. Try plugging it directly into your wall socket not through an extension cord. If that has worked then connect the controller and TV and check that the console is working by playing a game on it for a while. If you still are not getting any signs of life then unplug the power, press and hold the power button for at least 20 second then release and leave it for a few seconds before plugging the power back in back in now attempt to turn it on. If after doing that you still have no response when you press the power button but you have an eject disc button then press the eject button if you get a beep it shows it at least got some power but it does still mean that you will need to get your console into console hospital for repair.

  4. Additional step: If your console uses an external power brick like the Xbox One then try replacing that with an OEM / Genuine Power Supply, if it does turn on after replacing the Power supple congratulations it looks like you fixed it, however if it still fails to power on then you are going to need to consider getting it to console hospital for repair.
